Welcome back everyone for the Spring semester at Michigan State University!
I hope your Christmas and New Year celebrations were fabulous and that you’re ready to go for 2012. Gay Christian Fellowship will be kicking off the semester strong with our first meeting on Wednesday January 11th. Here’s the link to the Facebook event! Please feel free to RSVP.
I’m really excited for everything we have going for this semester and I’m always amazed how much the group has evolved since we began last fall. It’s been the sincerest wish of all those who’ve contributed their time and energy into making this group happen that we create a strong community of LGBTQ Christians who grow in faith together. I hope you can join in our fellowship and see where the Holy Spirit leads us.
For those new and returning to GCF, below are the details of our weekly meetings:
- Where: Tower Room on the 4th Floor of the MSU Union
- When: Wednesdays, 7:30pm – 9:00pm (feel free to come for as long as you’re able)
- What: Our meetings are discussions that can range from topics on our Christian faith, our sexuality/gender identity, Biblical passages, and points of intersection between our faith and our sexuality/gender identity.
In honor of the start of the semester, here’s the Prayer for Schools and Colleges from the Episcopal Church Book of Common Prayer.
O Eternal God, bless all schools, colleges, and universities and especially Michigan State University, that they may be lively centers for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and grant that those who teach and those who learn may find you to be the source of all truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
